Dr. Blackmon is an experienced management consultant who specializes in organizational performance. She earned a Bachelor of Science with double majors in Accounting and Marketing Management, a Master of Science in Public Administration and a Doctor of Philosophy in Organization and Management, from the School of Business and Technology at Capella University. In addition, Dr. Blackmon has nearly three decades of progressive professional work experiences. Her career began in auditing and accounting in both the for-profit and not-for-profit industries. For the past 18 years, she has worked as a management consultant with an emphasis on improving organizational performance. In this role, she provides executive coaching, strategic planning, program evaluation, research and data analysis; and workshops and trainings for organizations. Dr. Blackmon is also an experienced higher education instructor. She has taught business classes in management and accounting both in live face-to-face settings and in an on-line environment. Including employment with the University of Louisiana at Monroe, Argosy University and Southeast Missouri State University. She has taught public administration, budgeting, management, strategic planning and non-profit management courses in their MBA and MPA programs. Among Dr. Blackmon’s strengths are integrity, critical thinking, problem-solving and the ability to provide individualized services to organizations.
Dr. Cassell is a Licensed Psychologist in the state of California (CA PSY28868) and Missouri (MO 2016001951). She received her master’s degree in Community Counseling from Southeast Missouri State University in 2008 and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology in Atlanta, GA in 2014. Over the course of the last 12 years, Dr. Cassell has gained extensive training and experience in a variety of clinical settings including a domestic violence shelter, employee assistance office, private practice, maximum security prison, inpatient psychiatric unit, hospital emergency room, college counseling center, VA hospital, and an outpatient community mental health clinic. Dr. Cassell also trained at the Atlanta VA where she received extensive training in utilizing Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure Therapy to treat PTSD. As part of her private practice, Dr. Cassell offers individual and group therapy services to adult clients. Dr. Cassell is EMDR trained and specializes in working with survivors of trauma. She contracts with Survivors of Torture, International to provide free therapeutic services to torture survivors. She also provides therapy for therapists, other mental health providers, and professionals who are disproportionately exposed to traumatic experiences through the nature of their work (ex. first responders, hospice workers, child welfare agents, etc). Additionally, Dr. Cassell is skilled in providing therapeutic services to adult clients facing a variety of other concerns including but not limited to: life transitions, grief, loss, stress, spirituality, relational difficulties, self-esteem, body image, postpartum adjustment, terminal illness, and general life dissatisfaction. Dr. Cassell contracts with organizations to provide consultative services. Through one such contract she provides leadership consultation, disruptive event management, and disaster response services. This involves conducting assessments of threats of violence, roundtable leadership consultations, critical incidence response interventions or group debriefings following a disaster or disruptive event. She also provides consultative services to nonprofit organizations related to program evaluation and grant writing. Dr. Cassell also offers consultative and supervisory services to organizations related to psychological evaluation.
Alexis now also serves as a research assistant with Blackmon & Collins Consulting, LLC in the Atlanta location. She is also a doctoral student in the Department of Political Science at Clark Atlanta University where she is currently researching socioeconomic justice issues, combating obstacles to advocacy, reinforcing collective media outreach, and developing innovative frameworks for community engagement. Upon earning a Master of Arts in Communication from Johns Hopkins University, Alexis began specializing in Public and Media Relations. Particularly interested in converting theoretical insight to practice, Alexis gained extensive professional experience using social and digital media to enhance online visibility, increase consumer acquisition, and facilitate brand awareness. After appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres Show for outstanding community involvement and leadership, Alexis worked with brands such as CoverGirl cosmetics and networks such as Black Entertainment Television (BET) for various projects including: The Academy of Country Music Awards, the BET Awards, and the Black Girls Rock. Alexis now also serves as a research assistant with Blackmon Consulting, LC in the Atlanta location. She is also a doctoral student in the Department of Political Science at Clark Atlanta University where she is currently researching socioeconomic justice issues, combating obstacles to advocacy, reinforcing collective media outreach, and developing innovative frameworks for community engagement. Upon earning a Master of Arts in Communication from Johns Hopkins University, Alexis began specializing in Public and Media Relations.
